Hi! I’m Kabir Takhtar, a student at The Doon School, Dehradun, India. I’m passionate about turning ideas into tangible experiences, whether that’s leading a team, working on cars, or diving into technical projects. I believe in bridging theory with real-world application, and I’m always excited by hands-on work that challenges me to think creatively.

Leadership
As a leader, I’ve embraced diverse roles within the school. Here are some that have been especially meaningful to me:
Motor Mechanic Club Student Incharge – I lead the Motor Mechanic Club, sparking curiosity and hands-on skills among students interested in mechanics and engineering.
Audio and Visual Squad Student Incharge – Managing the technical setup for school events, I ensure smooth sound and visuals that elevate the overall experience for our community.
School Swimming Captain – As the Swimming Captain, I guide our team, helping them push boundaries and achieve new levels of success.
President of the Round Square Council – I’m honoured to represent our school in this global network, collaborating on projects that focus on character, community, and understanding.
Chairperson for the Doon School United Nations Conference 2024 – I’m excited to lead this prestigious event, where students from around the globe come together to discuss global issues.
House Athletics Captain – As captain, I motivate my house team to excel in athletics, instilling a spirit of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.

Volunteer
As a volunteer, I’m deeply committed to giving back to the community in ways that uplift and empower. Some of my volunteer experiences include:
Life Skills Workshops at Local Schools – I visit government schools to share essential life skills with students, aiming to equip them with knowledge that can empower their daily lives and future choices.
Organic Farm Volunteer – I frequently visit organic farms, helping with their operations and learning more about sustainable practices that align with my passion for the environment.
Book Collection and Donation Drives – I organize book donation drives to provide educational resources for orphanages in the area, recognizing the power of books in opening new horizons.
Visits to Orphanages – On special occasions, I visit orphanages to connect with the children, bringing a sense of family and celebration to their lives.
These experiences have deepened my commitment to service and have taught me invaluable lessons in compassion, sustainability, and community connection.
Experience
Asahi India Glass Ltd.
My internship at Asahi provided me with an in-depth view of the glass manufacturing industry, particularly in automotive applications. I had the opportunity to visit their manufacturing plants, where I learned about the intricate processes involved in producing windshield and sunroof glass for vehicles, including buses. Being a Japanese company, Asahi introduced me to Japanese manufacturing practices that prioritize efficiency and quality, alongside rigorous safety protocols. This experience taught me the precision and discipline required in high-stakes manufacturing environments.
Tata Motors and Ferrari
At Tata Motors and Ferrari, I delved into the engineering marvels of the automotive world. I explored the gearbox systems, studied engine cross-sections, and observed the precise movements of pistons in action. This internship gave me a comprehensive understanding of how even the smallest component plays a vital role in the functioning of an engine. Working in this environment helped me appreciate the complexity of automotive design and engineering, as well as the importance of attention to detail in every mechanism.
